I've been running across some incredible Easter
treats this year as I peruse recipe and food sites. So many
I think I'm gonna need to do multiple posts. So here we
go with Day 1 - COOKIES!
Here are a few of my faves...
How adorable are these little bunnies...
Look at these little beauties...
Both of the above are from Sweetopia.net.
That Marian has some mad skills no?
Be sure to check her out.
And it wouldn't be Easter without an egg or two...
Anyone have a glass of milk?
Come back tomorrow for Easter Sweets Day 2...

Take A Memo...
Memo Board that is. I really want a new memo board for my
home office. So many cool ones out there. How ever do I choose?
Do I make my own?
Maybe out of this Michael Miller fabric and black ribbon...
Unfortunately this one from the Container Store doesn't match my
color scheme. But oh so cute..
And you know I love all things British (see my previous post)
which would definitely include this awesome board from
Not On The High Street...
And another cool one from them...
Ah the possibilities are endless. Which one would you choose?
Any other cute boards you've seen out and about?

Inspired Words
I found this over on Life + Style blog. Hope she doesn't mind my
copying her, but it's really just too good not to share...
The important thing is not to be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past... and recognize that everyday won't be sunny. And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair... remember it's only in the black of night you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble, to fall, cause most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for... Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined... Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end... the journey is the destination. -Author Unknown
Inspiring words for this cold and gray Friday, or any day really.

Front Door Face Lift
My front door is badly in need of a paint job. When I bought
the place, it was a rather bland shade of green which did
nothing for the curb appeal. I live in a fairly boring townhouse
community, so we're governed by an HOA which does little to
actually help with many critical neighborhood issues like lawn
care and keeping the streetlights in working order, but nit picks
over simple aesthetic changes. Anyway, I digress.
So, my door is currently a shade of burgundy. I like it, but I
guess I would also like a change, but I am limited by the HOA
and the general color scheme of the brick etc.
I love this yellow door, but unfortunately it's a no go with my place...
Isn't this a lovely entry. Classic black. When I first started thinking
about repainting, black came to mind. But again, not so sure it will
work with my scheme...
Just throwing in this other black entry because it's
so beautiful. I'd like to live here...
I think I might be able to make a kelly or even glossy hunter green
work. Maybe. This ones nice...
I think a trip to the paint store is in order to pick up some chips
and see what will work. I'll keep you posted...

Eye Candy from Daily Candy
Does anyone else out there subscribe to Daily Candy?
You can go to their site at dailycandy.com . It touts itself
as the "Insiders guide to your city." You can sign up
for your city or others, and they send you weekend guides,
restaurant suggestions, shopping, and all kinds of things.
I was pleasantly surprised in this morning's San Francisco
email blast to find Massucco Warner Miller Designs featured.
I went to their website and wow, lovely stuff.
Check out a few rooms...
I think that office rivals my all time favorite home office
designed by Sarah Richardson. Beautiful!

London Calling
I admit, I've had a small obsession with all things
British, well, forever really. I love the accents,
the TV (my latest addiction is Top Gear, I know bizarre),
and the shops, oh the shops! Is it just me, or do they
have much cooler stuff than we have stateside? Perhaps
it's just that it's different, and I can't have it! Well, I could
have some things if I want to pay a small fortune in shipping.
But anyway, let us check out some of the lovely finds
from jolly old England...
Graham and Green
I was first introduced to this gorgeous shop by a book
that I was reading. The story's heroine would seek
solace from her crazy life by strolling through their
beautiful things. I can see why...
Not On The High Street
This is a catalog only site. So many fabulous
things, you could spend hours scrolling through
all of them ( I did anyway).
Although it doesn't quite match my homes exterior,
I would LOVE to have this Union Jack doormat...
And these signs are just plain cool. Especially if you are
a fan of the vintage bus rolls like I am (check out my previous
post)
Lisa Stickley
I so want to order some of the gorgeous china from Lisa's
shop. I just don't have a great deal of confidence that it will
arrive to me in one piece. Love these...
So until I decide to hop a plane to London for a weekend
of shopping, I'll just have to admire all these delightful
items from afar.
Cheerio!

Outdoor Rooms
Such a warm weekend. Into the 70s both days.
It's weather like this that sometimes makes me
wish I lived in a cool urban condo or loft with
a fabulous rooftop deck.
Maybe something like this...
Or how about this one...
I can just imagine the great parties you could have here...

Spring has Sprung - It Makes Me A Little Sad
I have indeed been MIA for a week now. Work
is still sucking every last bit of energy right out
of me. But I'm hopeful things will be improving
soon. Fingers crossed!
But on to other topics. I must say, somehow
when my head was down at my desk, spring sprung.
My tulips are poking through the ground, the grass
is getting the tiniest hint of green and its been in the
60s and 70s most of the week. The arrival of spring is
always somewhat bittersweet for me. Even when we've
had such a brutal winter. Yes I was grumbling about
the snow and cold just a month ago, but I do prefer the
colder months and my winter wardrobe.
So I must say be seeing you to my dear boots...
and my lovely scarf collection(this is only a
small part of it)...
And to my various coats and sweaters as well.
I'll see you again when the leaves begin to fall and the
chill returns to the air.

R and R
I've noticed a theme from reading some of my favorite
blogs this week, as well as listening to friends and also
in my own life. It's been a tough one. Hectic schedules,
stresses at work, colds, flu, and just an overall craziness
seems to be the rule. Such is the norm in our modern lives,
but sometimes don't we all just need a few minutes off
the roller coaster? I know I do.
You may want to relax here...
With one of these...
Or better yet, some of these...
So I wish you all a happy weekend, and I hope you can
steal away for a few moments of R and R. Whether
it be with one of the above or just a good book ENJOY!

Paint Baby
Can you tell I'm painting? Perhaps getting ready to paint
is a better way to put it. I'm in search of the perfect gray
for my master bedroom. I thought finding the right
shade of blue was hard, but gray takes the cake in my
book. Do you go cool gray or warm gray? How dark?
Do I really want gray? In my bedroom? It's not the best
in feng shui terms, but I have a vision, and I want to see
it through. As you can see I have several samples.
Fingers crossed I can find one that I really like.

Lastest Acquisition
I have had my eye on the Rodney White canvases for awhile
now. I just wasn't ready to spend the money though.
However, with my tax refund on the way, and a sale
at Cost Plus/World Market, I decided to go for it.
I originally went to buy Seek Happiness, with the cherries.
However, I didn't like the colors when I saw them in person.
And fell in love with Do Things.
Not only is it a beautiful piece of art, and goes perfectly
in my kitchen, it's a wonderful message.

Home Office Organization...Please!
I've recently started working for a new company.
My old one was acquired by this new one. It seems
I'll be able to continue working from home, which is
great. However, I am currently juggling 3, yes count
them T-H-R-E-E computers until we become fully
integrated and I can get rid of one of them. So
needless to say, my poor desk is bursting at the seams,
and my home office is in great need of some organization.
Yes, it's been just a week and the chaos is getting to me.
I think I'm going with an extension to my current
desk which I love. So I'll now have more of an L-
shaped configuration like this...
And I've run across some seriously cute office accessories
at The Container Store...
And one other must have, a new office chair. Mine has
seen it's better days and I desperately need something
more comfortable. And I wouldn't mind a little style too.
Maybe like this...
Any suggestions for managing multiple
computers and organizing a home office?

Oscar Fashion.... First Look
Just perusing through some of the first shots
from the Oscar Red Carpet. Well, as always
there was the good, the not so good, and the
excuse me? A few standouts for me so far...
Nobody ever seems to notice
her, but you know, I think Queen Latifah
always looks awesome...
Kate Winslet, stunning as usual...
A few others I liked... although nothing dramatic,
I LOVED Kathryn Bigelows dress. Whereas Rachel
McAdams frock was quite dramatic. But enough of
the ladies, bring on the gentlemen!
You've got my vote Colin!
And Jeremy Renner is just cute, don't
you think?
And last but certainly not least, Sam Worthington.
I'm counting the days until "Clash of the Titans"
just to see him. Swooon.....
Best of luck to all!
