Crafty Friday
I fell in love with these little ornaments that Kelly
over on Fabulous K featured back in December. I think
she got the individual letter ornaments at Pottery
Barn. Unfortunately I spotted these little lovelies
AFTER the holidays, so they were long gone. So
I decided to try and make them myself. Or at least
something close.
I used a 1" scalloped circle punch, some heavyweight
cardstock, and some alphabet stickers...
And chose my inspirational words...
And then I used ribbon to tie them together...
You might notice I have some glitter around the "m". I'm
still in search of the right glue to make the glitter stick and
also be able to draw along the scallop edge. I think I need a
bigger circle too. And I think I might check out some cute
charms in place of the bell. Not sure what I'm gonna do
with them when they are done. Probably just hang them on
my inspiration board in my office. But I think they are pretty
cute.
Happy Friday!

Lovely Interiors
I'm constantly scouring the web for decorating
ideas and inspiration. I'm an amateur Interior
Designer at heart. Heavy emphasis on the
AMATEUR. But it's something I love to do.
Have a look at these rooms...
What a stylish home office...
I used this room as inspiration for my master bedroom...
And a beautiful creamy cozy living room...

Babies Are Such a Nice Way to Start People
A friend of mine is having twins in a couple of
months. I've done most of my gift shopping,
and now I just need to choose a card. I have
been an avid cardmaker for years. And new
baby cards are some of the funnest ones to
make. Here are my choices...
If you can't tell, she is having boys.
So which one would you vote for?

Now That's Entertainment
Did anyone catch the BAFTAs last night on BBC America?
I caught a few snippets as I flipped back and forth between
shows. I can't say I was pulling for anyone in particular as I
haven't seen any of the nominated films, but I am a Colin Firth
fan. Not to mention Tom Ford is pretty awesome. On the fashion
front, I really loved Carey Mulligan's look. It's not my normal
style, but I thought her dress was beautiful. It was by Vionnet.
Although I read an article that dissed her for not wearing a
British designer. You still looked fabulous Carey! Congrats!

And on other entertainment topics. I read an article on EW.com
that says SNL is close to signing up Betty White for a show.
It would actually be co-hosting with several other "Women of
Comedy". You know, I think this is pretty cool. Does Betty often
play characters which grate on your last nerve? Sure she does. But
nonetheless, I think I'll always be a fan of our dear Rose Nylund.
You go girl!

Getaway
Things are finally warming up and melting here in the Mid-
Atlantic after all the snow we've received over the past
month. However, I find myself still longing to get away
to someplace quiet and warm and relaxing.
I'm thinking maybe Mexico...
The French Riviera...
The Amalfi Coast in Italy...
Any thoughts?

I WANT IT!
I read quite a few decor and design blogs, and there
are a few items we unanimously love. One of these
items is the vintage bus destination or roll signs.
Like these...
Z Gallerie also has something similar available in 2 sizes and a few
different cities. Very cool!
Since they are a little pricey, I've decided to see if there is
any chance I can create one on my own. I've got an idea
using a simple office document program and my local FedEx
Office store. I'll keep you posted on how (or if) it turns out.

Lost... In Translation
Anyone out there a fan of the TV show Lost? I was addicted to this
show the first 2 seasons. Then with the capture of our poor
ill-fated survivors of Oceanic flight 815 by the Others at the end
of season 2, I began to struggle with it. I started season 3 and
within a few episodes just couldn't stomach it anymore.
However, last year I happened to catch the Carlton Cuse/Damon
Lindelof recap just prior to the Season 5 premiere and well, I
was hooked. Again. I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the whole
season as our losties bounced through time, only to end up in 1974.
Anyway, I was so excited when the 6th and final season premiered
a few weeks ago. But I tell ya, it's tough to keep up with all the
inside stuff, easter eggs, mythology and what the french toast
those damn numbers really mean. So, long story short, if you too
enjoy the show but feel like you miss a few key points, I strongly
encourage you to check out Ryan McGee's weekly recap over on
Zap2it.com. Not only is it informative it's insanely entertaining.
So here's to Jack, Sawyer, Sun, Jin, Locke (off the island, RIP
on it), Hurley and well, I guess Kate too and the rest of the gang.

Belated Valentines
"It's Valentine's Day, it's not the day you run away from love, it's the day you track it down, tie it up and take it home." -Cam from the TV show "Modern Family"
What a great line.

Creative Inspiration
On my 2010 "To-Do" list (I prefer that to resolutions), was a wish and a promise to more actively pursue my creative side. Be it crafting, cooking, decorating my house, writing, or just things that I think are fun and interesting. And after becoming slightly addicted to reading all the great blogs out there I decided, what the heck, I'll start my own. Not sure anyone out there wants to read my ramblings, but if you do, I am here.
